Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Heron and the team at Division Street Dental are passionate about serving the youngest members of the Skagit Valley community. The value of establishing good dental hygiene and a positive, trusting relationship with a dental provider early in life cannot be understated. We would be honored to build this foundation with your child.
Dr. Heron welcomes patients as young as two years old by warmly accommodating their comfort level, wherever that may be. You as a parent may stay with or hold your child if it enables a positive experience. Depending on a child’s comfort, their first dental visit with Dr. Heron starts with entering the exam room together, looking at, talking about, and touching the chair, and handling and talking about a few safe instruments. The appointment will proceed like a typical cleaning as much as the child’s comfort and happiness allow.
We prioritize protecting your child’s teeth from an early age so they can speak and eat easily, as well as avoid problems by catching them early with regular exams.

Oral Health Exams
Nothing goes further in protecting your child’s dental wellness than routine oral health exams and cleanings. A professional pediatric teeth cleaning involves removing the build up of plaque and tartar, as well as cleaning hard-to-reach parts of your child’s teeth under the gums. We also polish your child’s teeth so they shine and apply a fluoride treatment if necessary to help prevent decay.
