Oral Cancer Screenings
Dr. Heron is a trusted assessor of oral cancer symptoms and is committed to serving the best interests of any patient faced with this diagnosis with compassion and expertise. Oral cancer typically appears as white or red patches (lesions) on the inside of your mouth, including on your tongue or the floor of your mouth below your tongue. You may experience bleeding in your mouth, swelling in your face or neck, or have a hard time swallowing. Oral cancer screenings are a standard part of regular exams and cleanings.

Disease, crowding, and damage can necessitate the removal of a tooth by extraction. Dr. Heron and her team will prioritize your comfort should an extraction be necessary to optimize your dental wellness.

Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay in people of all ages and has been proven to strengthen children’s teeth. We recommend the use of silver diamine fluoride on a case by case basis, in line with guidance from the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association.
